Baseball Recap: Marshall County Comes Up Short

Marshall County fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Forrest on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 5-4. The Tigers' loss continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row.

Kendrick Tears and Reid Mitchell stepped up to the plate in a big way. Tears went 2-for-3 with two RBI, while Mitchell scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Marshall County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Forrest, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Marshall County will head out to square off against Giles County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers are facing the Bobcats at the right time seeing as the Bobcats are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Forrest, they will be playing at home against Heritage Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
