Tyler hadn't done well against Texas recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Tyler Lions never let the Texas Tigers onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory. This was a revenge game for the Lions: when they faced off against the Tigers back in January, they had to take a 1-0 loss.

Tyler's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Texas, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tyler face off against the Mt. Pleasant at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Texas, they will face off against Hallsville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Texas' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
