Softball Recap: Camas Takes a Loss

After flying high against WF West last Friday, Camas came back down to earth. The Camas Papermakers took a 13-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ridgefield Spudders on Tuesday. The Papermakers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spudders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2019.

Hayden Wiest made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Chambers, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5.

Even though they lost, Camas was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .405. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Camas' loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Ridgefield, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Camas will face off against Olympia at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Ridgefield, they will challenge Mark Morris at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
