Basketball Recap: Alexander Comes Up Short

Alexander was the 58-53 winner over Elba when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Alexander Trojans were dealt an 82-43 defeat at the hands of the Elba Lancers on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 610th, while the Lancers are ranked 47th).

Alexander's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Elba, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 15-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alexander will take on Attica at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Elba, they will face off against Notre Dame at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
