Recap: Beachside Barracudas vs. Paxon School For Advanced Studies Golden Eagles
After a string of 14 wins, the Beachside Barracudas's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell to Paxon School For Advanced Studies 45-41.
Beachside lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Madilyn (Madi) Ray, who dropped a triple-double on 11 points, 19 rebounds, and 13 blocks. Ray hasn't dropped below two blocks for 12 straight games. Ari Walker was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with two steals.
Beachside's loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 18-4. As for Paxon School For Advanced Studies, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.
Beachside will square off against the Knights at TBD on Monday. Oakleaf is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Paxon School For Advanced Studies, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Sharks at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Florida (Ponte Vedra is ranked 49th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 70th).
