Baseball Recap: East Ridge Takes a Loss

East Ridge came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 11-5 to the Davenport Broncos. If the Knights were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Broncos when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Haisum Osuna made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Rincon, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Even though they lost, East Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

East Ridge has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. Davenport's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-14.

Looking ahead, East Ridge will host Mount Dora Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Davenport, they will head out to face off against Freedom at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
