Softball Recap: West Lafayette Falls to Covington in First Game of Season

West Lafayette unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Covington Trojans by a score of 5-4 on Tuesday.

Allison Creech and Kerrigan Gooden stepped up to the plate in a big way. Creech scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Gooden got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI.

West Lafayette has already played their next contest, a 10-0 victory against Crawfordsville on the 3rd. As for Covington, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 9-4 defeat against Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin on the 8th.
