But now we can add another quality: hurdling.
The 6-foot-2, 215-pound running back for
Antioch (Calif.), rated the
top junior back in the country by 247Sports, leapt over not one, but two defenders en route to a spectacular 57-yard touchdown last week in a 26-3 win at San Leandro.
Harris, who rushed for a school record 394 yards and scored five touchdowns the previous week, jumped over one would-be tackler (and his own blocker) near the line of scrimmage on a sweep around right end.
Then while sprinting down the right sideline, he completely hurdled a befuddled cornerback at the San Leandro 30. He went untouched the rest of the way.
All of it should not only make Alabama football coaches smile — he was the Crimson Tide's first 2017 commit — but also Alabama's track and field coach. Harris is a sprinter on the Antioch track team, though he does it strictly to get faster for football. He's run a 10.78-second 100-meter dash before.
