On Thursday, Henry County didn't have quite enough to beat South Oldham and fell 5-4.

Baylor Nolin put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Nolin was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Henry County is 7-3 when Nolin posts two or more runs, but 4-10 otherwise.
In other batting news, Nicholas Bryan was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Henry County's success: when he posts at least one home run the team is 3-1 (and 8-12 when he doesn't).
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Nicholas County and Augusta, and Nicholas County kept the tradition alive. The Bluejackets came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 6-2 on Wednesday.
Like Henry County, Nicholas County also got a great game from a two-way player: Corbin Fryman. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Fryman was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chandler Kenney, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
Nicholas County's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-23. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Henry County, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-13.
Henry County came out on top in a nail-biter against Nicholas County when the teams last played back in April of 2023, sneaking past 11-10. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bluejackets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
