Preview: Taft vs. Rainier
If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Rainier. On Friday they will take on Taft at 7:00 PM. Rainier is currently enjoying a eight-game winning streak and is looking to extend their dominance.
Rainier put the finishing touches on their 6th blowout victory of the season last Friday. Everything came up roses for them against Willamina as the squad secured a 56-19 victory. With Rainier ahead 28-7 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Meanwhile, Taft might have drawn first blood against Dayton, but it was Dayton who got the last laugh. Taft ended up on the wrong side of a painful 12-36 walloping at Dayton's hands. Taft can't seem to catch a break and have now endured six losses in a row.
Rainier's win lifted them to 8-0 while Taft's loss dropped them down to 1-7. We'll see if Rainier can repeat their recent success or if Taft bounce back and reverse their fortune.
