Volleyball Recap: Grovetown Beats Statesboro for Their Third Straight Win + How To Watch

Grovetown hadn't done well against Statesboro recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Warriors came out on top in a nail-biter against the Blue Devils, sneaking past 2-1. Winning may never get old, but the Warriors sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Grovetown had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-16, 15-12.

Addyson Richards paced Grovetown's offense, picking up eight kills. Richards got some help from Abi Widener and her 17 assists. Finally, Ari Stewart kept Grovetown's defense grounded, leading the team with 11 blocks.

Grovetown's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Statesboro, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-3.

Coincidentally, Grovetown and Statesboro will both be playing Tattnall County the next time they take the court. The Warriors will head out to face the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Blue Devils will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
