Volleyball Recap: Grovetown Picks Up Third Consecutive Win + How To Watch

Grovetown waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Statesboro Blue Devils. This was a revenge game for the Warriors: when they faced off against the Blue Devils two weeks ago, they had to take a 2-0 loss.

Grovetown had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-16, 15-12.

Addyson Richards paced Grovetown's offense, picking up eight kills. Richards got some help from Abi Widener and her 17 assists. Finally, Ari Stewart kept Grovetown's defense grounded, leading the team with 11 blocks.

Grovetown's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Statesboro, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-3.

Coincidentally, Grovetown and Statesboro will both be playing Tattnall County the next time they take the court. The Warriors will head out to face the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Blue Devils will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
