Volleyball Recap: Cherokee Warriors vs. Norcross Blue Devils
Cherokee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Norcross Blue Devils. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Blue Devils when the teams met back in August of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Berkley Wood paced Cherokee's offense, picking up seven kills. Wood got some help from Breanna Miller and her eight assists. Maddie Lathem controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
Norcross can attribute much of their success to Grayson Taylor, who had ten digs and three assists. That's the most assists Taylor has posted since back in October of 2024.
Cherokee's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Norcross, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Cherokee has already played their next match, a 2-1 win against South Forsyth on the 9th. As for Norcross, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Starr's Mill on the 9th.
