Baseball Recap: Manual Arts Comes Up Short

Manual Arts had lost eight straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 0-6 to make it nine. They came up short against the Jefferson Democrats, falling 13-1. The Toilers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Democrats from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

As for Jefferson, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games.

For Jefferson's part, Andres Alvarez was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three runs. Those two hits gave Alvarez a new career-high.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Jefferson beat Manual Arts by a score of 18-1 later that day.
