Football Game Preview: Preston Knights vs. Woodrow Wilson Flying Eagles

Preston hasn't had much luck against Woodrow Wilson recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Knights will be playing at home against the Flying Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Preston will be strutting in after a win while Woodrow Wilson will be coming in after a defeat.

Preston is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They enjoyed a cozy 49-31 victory over East Fairmont on Friday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Preston to victory, but perhaps none more so than Slaton Manko, who threw for 382 yards and five touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also rushed for 68 yards and one score. The dominant performance also gave Manko a new career-high in passer rating (153.3). Aidan Schmidl was another key receiver, picking up 249 receiving yards and three TDs.

Meanwhile, Woodrow Wilson was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap last Friday as they fell 34-28 to Bluefield.

Woodrow Wilson's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Preston, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Preston took a serious blow against Woodrow Wilson when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 35-7. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Knights were down 21-0.
