Basketball Recap: Longmont Drops Highest Score of Season Against Silver Creek

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Longmont). They claimed a resounding 65-37 win over the Silver Creek Raptors. That's more bragging rights for the Trojans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Longmont's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emory Klish, who went 7-for-11 on her way to 19 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. Those 19 points gave Klish a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaila Patterson, who posted 15 points along with five boards and three steals.

Klish wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Longmont was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Silver Creek only seven assists.

Despite the defeat, Silver Creek saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Avery White went 6-for-10 to rack up 21 points and eight rebounds. The game was White's fifth in a row with at least 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Ayer, who scored 11 points.

Longmont's record is now 7-14. As for Silver Creek, they dropped their record down to 3-17 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home.

Longmont didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 47-23 defeat against Horizon on the 18th. As for Silver Creek, they have also already played their next matchup, a 74-32 loss against Monarch on the 18th.
