Basketball Recap: Miami Comes Up Short

Miami lost against Fort Elliott back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Miami Warriors fell just short of the Fort Elliott Cougars by a score of 40-38. While the Warriors didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Cougars 16-12 in the first quarter.

When it comes to explaining why Miami lost, don't look at Jacer Dempsey. Despite the final result, he posted 15 points and three steals.

Miami's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Fort Elliott, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-10.

Miami wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 62-57 win against Kelton on the 7th. Fort Elliott will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on White Deer at 7:00 p.m. on February 15th.
