Baseball Recap: Lincoln Triumphs

After losing to East Providence the last time they met, Lincoln decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Lions had just enough and edged out the Townies 2-1 on Monday.

Lincoln got a great performance from Jon-Luca Feole as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over 6.2 innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave Feole a new career-high.

At the plate, Lincoln's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Isaac Cabral, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Connor Smith also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Lincoln's win bumped their record up to 3-10. As for East Providence, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Lincoln will take on rival Pilgrim at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, East Providence is set to challenge their familiar foe Moses Brown at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
