It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Washington Academy had no problem doing just that  on Saturday. They never let the Mount View Mustangs get on the board and left with  a   10-0  win. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matches by six  runs or more this season.
 James Welch made a splash no matter where he played. He  kept things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. That's the most  strikeouts  he has posted since back in May. He was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  stolen base. He has been hot for a while, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last nine times he's  played.
 In other batting news,  Trevor Shimabukuro was  incredible,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with one  home run, three  runs,  and one  triple. That's the most  runs  he has posted since back in May. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jayden Mahar, who  went 1-for-2 with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  double.
 Washington Academy was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .526. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a  batting average of .308 or higher in three consecutive  games.
Washington Academy is  on a roll lately: they've  won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Mount View, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7.
 Washington Academy has already played their next matchup,  a  1-0  win against Dexter on the 17th. Mount View does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
