Soccer Recap: Benson Falls Short of Lincoln East in the Playoffs

Benson and Lincoln East squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Benson had to settle for second. They lost 10-0 to the Spartans. While losing is never fun, Benson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska soccer rankings (they are ranked 61st, while Lincoln East are ranked sixth).

Benson has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Lincoln East, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-4.

Benson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lincoln East, they will be playing at home against Millard South at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
