Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Brewer walked away with it. Everything went their way against the South Hills Scorpions on Thursday as they made off with an 18-1 victory. Considering the Bears have won 15 matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Cozette Tyson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Kamren Pride and Alyssa Wilson did most of the damage at the plate: Pride fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Wilson fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-4. That's the most RBI Pride has posted since back in March. Maddie Folsom was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
