Starr's Mill's hitters might be in the hot seat on Wednesday considering what happened against Harris County on Thursday. They came up short against the Tigers, falling 8-0. While the Panthers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-10), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Meanwhile, while McIntosh put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Lovejoy. McIntosh blew past Lovejoy 14-0. The Chiefs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by eight runs or more this season.
McIntosh got a massive performance out of Emily Veerman, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Michelle Chicas, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, a triple, and a run.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, McIntosh didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with eight strikeouts. That's the most strikeouts they've posted since back in October of 2023.
Starr's Mill has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season. As for McIntosh, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-6.
Starr's Mill skirted past McIntosh 7-6 in their previous matchup back in August. The rematch might be a little tougher for Starr's Mill since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
