Baseball Game Preview: Jordan Falcons vs. Orange Panthers

The Jordan Falcons will venture away from home to face off against the Orange Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jordan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.

On Wednesday, Jordan beat Athens Drive 7-3. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Jaguars recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Jordan got a great performance from Philip Daly as he struck out eight batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). Daly has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Peyton Jones was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of C.J. Carrow, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Jordan hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Athens Drive struck out nine times.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Orange faced off against East Chapel Hill on Tuesday. Orange was the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over East Chapel Hill. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won three matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Henry Hoffman, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Gary Miller also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Orange now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Jordan, their record now sits at 5-2.

Orange's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Jordan has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .449. It's a different story for Orange, though, as they've only averaged .362.
