Orting and Eatonville are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. Orting will head out on the road to face off against Eatonville at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Orting is looking for their season's first win.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Cardinals on Tuesday. Orting fell just short of Franklin Pierce by a score of 6-5. One positive for Orting, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Kathryn Prest was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, she gave up only three hits, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that she brought in this season.

In other batting news, Norah Fenton made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2024. Ryann Polly also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Meanwhile, Eatonville gave up the first runs last Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They were the clear victors by a 19-3 margin over Foss. With that victory, the Cruisers brought their scoring average up to 8.8 runs per game.

Like Orting, Eatonville also got a great game from a two-way player: Morgan Laird. On the mound, she struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Laird was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Grace Field was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Aubree Mills, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.

Eatonville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Eatonville's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2. As for Orting, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
