Centennial proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by seven) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Mansfield Timberview Wolves 1-0. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 64th, while Wolves are ranked 317th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Centennial's one-goal win came courtesy of Katie Bailey, who's now up to 25 this season.

Centennial is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-1-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 82 goals over those 14 games. Mansfield Timberview moved to 12-8-2 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Centennial does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mansfield Timberview, they will be playing at home against South Hills at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
