Volleyball Game Preview: Jackson Polar Bears vs. Whitmer Panthers

The Jackson Polar Bears will face off against the Whitmer Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Jackson sitting on eight straight victories and Whitmer on four.

Jackson saw some tournament action on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Findlay as they made off with a 3-0 win.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-7, 25-17.

Maren Evanto and Ellie Hepler were among the main playmakers for Jackson as the former had 12 digs and two aces and the latter had four digs and two aces. That's the most digs Evanto has posted over her last five matches. Taylor Brownsword also deserves some recognition as she had her first blocks of the season.

Copley typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Whitmer proved too difficult a challenge. They had just enough and edged out the Indians 3-2.

Whitmer had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 18-25, 25-21, 25-17, 16-14.

Jackson's victory bumped their record up to 18-5. As for Whitmer, their win bumped their record up to 14-9.
