The Akron Rams will challenge the Crowley County Chargers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Akron comes in on nine and Crowley County on six.
On Friday, Akron was fully in charge, breezing past Merino 54-14. The result was nothing new for Akron, who have now won six matchups by 26 points or more so far this season.

Jace Curtis
| 10/31/25 @ Merino | 77 |
| 08/28/25 vs Calhan | 70 |
| 10/18/25 @ Dayspring Christian Academy | 62 |
| 09/14/24 @ Fowler | 58 |
| 10/10/25 vs Haxtun | 55 |
Akron got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jace Curtis out in front who rushed for 112 yards and three scores on only nine carries, and also picked up 77 receiving yards. Those 77 receiving yards gave Curtis a new career-high. Another rusher making a difference was Jakzon Livesay, who gained 154 total yards and two touchdowns.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Akron proved: they limited Merino to a paltry 1.7 yards per carry. The team can thank Livesay for the heroic effort on defense: he. Akron didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.3.
Akron didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Trent Kautz and Kolten Randel.
Meanwhile, Crowley County faced Fowler in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Chargers enjoyed a cozy 52-38 victory over the Grizzlies.
Akron better keep an eye on Levi Gibson. He was instrumental in Crowley County's win, rushing for 197 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.0 yards per carry, and also picking up 71 receiving yards. Gibson's longest rush was for an incredible 74 yards.
Crowley County's defensive line made their presence known, laying out Brock True three times. Donaven Bell was especially locked on to Fowler's QB and sacked him twice. Bell also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 13.
Akron's record now sits at 9-0. As for Crowley County, their record is now 6-3.
Saturday's game might be decided on the ground. Akron has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 189 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Crowley County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 222.9 rushing yards. There's a good chance Saturday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Akron took a serious blow against Crowley County in their previous matchup back in October of 2020, falling 35-0. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
