Centauri put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed past the Monte Vista Pirates to the tune of 65-27. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Centauri had a senior duo take command as Troy Sowards dropped a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds and Carson Bagwell went 7-for-11 en route to 16 points and eight boards. Bagwell's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Jace Haslett was another key player, putting up six points and three steals.

Monte Vista's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Azariah Hurtado, who posted five points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Kaden Mellott, who had four points.

Centauri's victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-0. As for Monte Vista, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Centauri will challenge Buena Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Monte Vista, they will take on Bayfield at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Bayfield is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.9 points per game this season.
