Basketball Recap: North Pontotoc Takes a Loss

North Pontotoc lost against Senatobia two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The North Pontotoc Vikings lost to the Senatobia Warriors on the road by a 74-55 margin. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Warriors are ranked 76th).

North Pontotoc has also been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-21 record this season. As for Senatobia, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Pontotoc will venture away from home to take on Kosciusko at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Pontotoc knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Kosciusko likes a good challenge. As for Senatobia, they are taking a road trip to face off against Caledonia at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
