Baseball Recap: Santa Maria Takes a Loss

Santa Maria managed to slip by Carpinteria the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Saints lost 10-2 to the Warriors on Friday. The Saints just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Santa Maria saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Rice, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Santa Maria's loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Carpinteria, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Santa Maria will take on Nipomo at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Carpinteria, they will face off against Santa Ynez at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pirates will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight.
