Football Game Preview: Lumberton Panthers vs. Perry Central Bulldogs

The Lumberton Panthers will head out to challenge the Perry Central Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Lumberton's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Wesson last Friday. They took a 7-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cobras. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Cobras: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, Perry Central played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Tylertown, falling 40-20. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Lumberton will have to contain Cephus Pruitt Jr as he made an impact in Perry Central's last game. He rushed for 112 yards and one TD on only 12 carries. Pruitt Jr really tore up the turf during one magnificent 71-yard run.

Lumberton's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Perry Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Lumberton couldn't quite get it done against Perry Central in their previous meeting back in August of 2016 as they fell 33-22. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
