Basketball Recap: Sherod Mccmormick's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cox Mill over Hickory Ridge

Cox Mill lost against Hickory Ridge back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cox Mill Chargers lost to the Hickory Ridge Ragin' Bulls at home by a 74-60 margin. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (59), the Chargers still had to take the loss.

Several Chargers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sherod McCmormick, who went 7-for-11 en route to 22 points. McCmormick's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 22 points. Cruz Miller was another key player, putting up 19 points along with seven boards and four steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Cox Mill and nudges their season record down to 10-12. As for Hickory Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 11-12.

Cox Mill has already played their next match, a 68-60 victory against South Iredell on the 14th. As for Hickory Ridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 67-64 win against West Cabarrus on the 14th.
