Baseball Game Preview: Stoughton Black Knights vs. Oliver Ames Tigers

Stoughton is 2-8 against Oliver Ames since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Black Knights will head out on the road to square off against the Tigers at 3:45 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Stoughton fell victim to King Philip Regional and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 6-0 to the Warriors. That's two games in a row now that the Black Knights have lost by exactly six runs.

Meanwhile, Oliver Ames suffered their closest defeat since April 24, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Milford by a score of 3-1. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Scarlet Hawks: they've now lost three in a row.

Oliver Ames' defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Stoughton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

Stoughton came up short against Oliver Ames in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 7-4. Can the Black Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
