While Whitewater's victory against Jonesboro wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wildcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Cardinals on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won five in a row.

Whitewater had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-19, 15-8.

Whitewater now has a winning record of 4-3-1. As for Jonesboro, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Coming up, Whitewater will square off against Dutchtown at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jonesboro, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Woodward Academy on the 12th.
