Softball Game Preview: Buffalo Gap Bison vs. William Campbell Generals

The Buffalo Gap Bison will face off against the William Campbell Generals at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Buffalo Gap is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They never let Rappahannock County get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory.

Meanwhile, William Campbell got the win against Altavista on Tuesday by a conclusive 12-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Generals.

Peighton Francis spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, William Campbell got a massive performance out of Lilly Puckette, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Estella Short, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Buffalo Gap is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for William Campbell, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-9.
