The nation's No. 11 recruit is having second thoughts.
Jeoffrey Pagan, a defensive end from
Asheville (N.C.), re-opened his recruitment on Sunday after decommitting from the University of Florida.
The 6-foot-4, 250-pound senior is now considering at least a half-dozen schools. His decision to withdraw his commitment to Florida comes on the heels of the Gators' 31-7 loss to Florida State and the report that defensive line coach Dan McCarney is leaving the program to become the head coach at North Texas.
"There's a lot of uncertainty at Florida right now," Pagan told the Asheville Citizen-Times. "As of right now, they don't have a defensive line coach. It wasn't a situation I wanted to be a part of."
Pagan is the nation's No. 2 defensive end in the class of 2011 according to Tom Lemming, trailing only
South Pointe (Rock Hill, S.C.) standout
Jadeveon Clowney.
The loss of Pagan drops Florida's current recruiting haul to
No. 7 overall.
