Volleyball Recap: Freedom Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Freedom couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost 3-0 to the Winter Haven Blue Devils on Wednesday. The sweep was certainly out of character for the Patriots, seeing as the last time the team was held without a set was September 19th.

The final set scores came out to 25-14, 25-17, 25-13.

Valeria Talavera paced Freedom's offense, picking up seven kills. Talavera got some help from Gabriella Luiz and her nine assists.

Winter Haven had a senior duo take command as Camila DeJesus had 23 digs and two aces and Addison Traina had 31 assists and 13 digs. The team also got some help from Savannah Watts, who had seven kills, five digs, and four aces.

Freedom does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Winter Haven, they will take on West Orange at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
