Baseball Recap: Kennett Blue Demons vs. Avon Grove Red Devils
Kennett extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 5-10-1 in the process. They fell 11-8 to the Avon Grove Red Devils. The Blue Demons were not able to make up for their defeat to the Red Devils from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.
Ryan Hunter led a balanced group of hitters, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Kyle Doherty was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
As for Avon Grove, they pushed their record up to 10-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games.
On Avon Grove's side, they got a great performance from Devin Rinker as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits.
At the plate, Myles Raymond was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
