Basketball Recap: Lone Star Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Lone Star had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 50-44 to the Weldon Valley Warriors. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Several Longhorns players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Henry Glenn, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Anderson Weathers, who posted 21 points along with eight boards and three blocks.

August Filter went supernova For Weldon Valley., dropping a double-double with 28 points and ten rebounds. The matchup was Filter's fourth in a row with at least 17 points. Keian Keating was another key player, putting up eight points.

Looking ahead, Lone Star will head out to take on Peetz at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Weldon Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Union Colony Prep at 6:30 p.m.
