Baseball Recap: Murphysboro's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

Murphysboro managed to slip by Salem the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Murphysboro lost 14-4 to Salem on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Red Devils have suffered since March 27, 2024.

Bryson Canaley made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Murphysboro fell to 3-1. As for Salem, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Looking ahead, Murphysboro will square off against Monticello at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Salem, they will face off against Goreville at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
