Softball Recap: Williamston Gets the Win

While Williamston put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Mason. The Hornets walked away with a 5-0 win over the Bulldogs. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Thea Fortin made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last six matches. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Julia Belloli, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Jaiden Griffith was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run.

Williamston's record now sits at 12-4. As for Mason, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-8.
