Softball Game Preview: Lakewood Spartans vs. Pinellas Park Patriots

Lakewood is 0-10 against Pinellas Park since March of 2015 but things could change on Wednesday. The Spartans are taking a road trip to take on the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Neither Lakewood nor Pinellas Park posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Lakewood is headed into Wednesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 21st straight game dating back to last season on Monday. They came up short against Boca Ciega, falling 15-0.

Meanwhile, Pinellas Park suffered their closest defeat since April 16, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Largo by a score of 4-2. The Patriots have struggled against the Packers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Pinellas Park saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Auhbree Northrup, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Lakewood's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Pinellas Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.
