Baseball Game Preview: Deckerville Eagles vs. North Huron Warriors

The Deckerville Eagles will take on the North Huron Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Huron took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Deckerville, who comes in off a win.

Deckerville is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Caseville get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory on Wednesday.

Ian Flanagan was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, eight RBI, and three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Ashton Wedge, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Deckerville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, North Huron was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against All Saints Central, falling 23-5.

Jett Zimmerman made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Koroleski, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

North Huron's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Deckerville, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Deckerville got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 against North Huron by a conclusive 7-1 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
