Softball Recap: Brookhaven Comes Up Short

Brookhaven and East Central squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Brookhaven had to settle for second. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 14-1 to the Hornets, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Hornets: they've now lost six in a row.

Brookhaven saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Journi Hunt, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

Brookhaven's defeat dropped their record down to 15-12. As for East Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 19 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-5 record this season.

While Brookhaven had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
