Baseball Recap: Cascade Christian Triumphs

While Cascade Christian's win against Chimacum wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cougars sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Cowboys on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Cowboys: they've now won five in a row.

Major Rodarte made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Rodarte was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2025.

In other pitching news, Aiden Petrie looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (two).

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Brycen Larsen, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles and three RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.

The victory got Cascade Christian back to even at 1-1. As for Chimacum, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.

Looking ahead, Cascade Christian will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Kittitas at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Cougars will need to watch out since the Coyotes have now posted at least ten runs in their last seven contests. As for Chimacum, they will head out to challenge South Whidbey at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
