Volleyball Recap: Clinton Comes Up Short

Clinton came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Odessa Bulldogs. The Cardinals have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

While Clinton had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-22, 25-22.

Brooklyn Johnson paced Clinton's offense, picking up 11 kills. Johnson got some help from Brynn Manning and her 27 assists. Finally, Audrey McCoy kept Clinton's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Clinton's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8-3. As for Odessa, their victory bumped their record up to 13-15.

Clinton has already played their next matchup, a 1-1 draw against Butler on the 11th. Odessa has also already played their next contest (against Maryville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
