Basketball Recap: Clinton Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Clinton can now relate to. They took a hard 73-57 fall against the Anderson County Mavericks on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (55), the Dragons still had to take the loss.

Clinton's loss dropped their record down to 19-11. As for Anderson County, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season.

Clinton and Anderson County are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Clinton will be playing at home against Cocke County at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Cocke County has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Anderson County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Seymour at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Seymour has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with four straight defeats, while Anderson County will come in with five straight wins.
