Football Recap: Rolling Meadows Takes a Loss

After soaring to 43 points the game before, Rolling Meadows was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They took an 18-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fremd Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 46-6 back in August.

Fremd's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lily Mayer, who threw for 229 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.3% of her passes, and also rushed for 51 yards. Mayer has become a key player for the Vikings: the team is undefeated when she posts at least three passing touchdowns, but 2-3 otherwise. Suzanna Grosman was in the mix too, providing Fremd with two scores.

Rolling Meadows' defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Fremd, they pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Rolling Meadows wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 13-12 loss against Buffalo Grove on the 18th. As for Fremd, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 33-20 win against Hersey on the 17th.
