Basketball Recap: Crawfordsville Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

Southmont came into Friday's contest looking for another win against Crawfordsville, but Johnovan Smith wouldn't allow it. The Crawfordsville Athenians snuck past the Southmont Mounties with a 56-52 victory on Friday thanks in part to Smith, who went 13 of 20 on his way to 33 points and three steals. Smith is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

Several Mounties players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caden Miller, who posted 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Vince Reimondo, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 20 points and five rebounds.

Crawfordsville is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 3-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Southmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.

Crawfordsville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 42-33 win against North Montgomery on the 11th. As for Southmont, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 84-66 victory against Western Boone on the 11th.
