McClatchy is 8-1-1 against Monterey Trail since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Lions will head out to face off against the Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. McClatchy's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

McClatchy saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell 3-1 to East Union.

McClatchy's goal came courtesy of Christropher Cortez, who's now up to three this season.

Meanwhile, Monterey Trail gave up the first goal on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They had just enough and edged out Johnson 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for Monterey Trail.

McClatchy's loss dropped their record down to 2-2-2. As for Monterey Trail, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

McClatchy beat Monterey Trail by a goal when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
